STYLE

– Avoid references in the abstract.
– Place references after punctuation marks.
– Names of actants/proper names: capitalize only the first letter [Facebook].
– Words in other languages: italics, except for actants/proper names.
– Quotations in other languages: translated in the body text and italicized in footnotes. Indicate the source.
– Quotations within quotations: use single quotation marks. Example: “La señora dijo: ‘me gustan los perros’, y se compró uno”.
– Hyperlinks without underlining or colour.
– To highlight words: use italics (not bold and not quotation marks).
– Prefer the use of already agreed Spanish forms: violonchelo, dosier, folclore, solo, etc.
– Use the em dash/long dash (Alt+0151) for interpolated text: “El mar —conocido también como el océano— es de color azul”.
– Journal titles: name in italics, Arabic numeral, and, separated by a comma, “nro.” Example: Revista Argentina de Musicología 23, nro. 1.
– Musical albums: title in italics and components in English quotation marks. Example: “En casa de Mariquita” as part of Mujeres argentinas.
– Use words instead of Arabic numerals: cien años, ochenta por ciento.
– Names of musical ensembles without quotation marks or italics (as they are proper names).
– Images must be numbered and accompanied by their corresponding caption.

FIGURES, EXAMPLES, AND TABLES

All tables, charts, musical scores, or visual representations must be submitted as digital image files. Tables or charts embedded in other formats will not be accepted. The maximum number of images may not exceed 7. Images that are not exempt from copyright must have the corresponding permissions. The author is responsible for obtaining authorization for both images and musical examples.

Musical excerpts of up to eight measures must be transcribed and submitted as image files (individually, in .tif, .tiff, or .png formats). Images must be uploaded to the system separately. Please do not insert images into text files; only indicate their placement.

Each example/figure/table must be numbered and cited in the body of the text.
Captions: 10 pt, centred, 6 pt spacing after, single spacing, labels in bold. Example: Fig. nº 1, Ejemplo nº 1, Tabla nº 1.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES

Attention must be paid to the difference in formatting between bibliographic references in footnotes and those at the end of the text. For all matters not covered here or in the Submission Preparation Checklist, The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, must be followed.
