Abstract

Relationships between music and lyrics in popular song are as important as enigmatic: in masterpieces the coming together of both languages produces the strange feeling of an indivisible unit. Even though we knew by documents how composers and lyricists have actually worked, the keys to that encounter seems to remain unattainable. When the musical composition precedes the writing of lyrics there is often a previous scale in creative processes –the rough notes where rhythmical guidelines are registered as a scheme for the lyricist work–. This kind of nonsense text is the so called in English dummy lyrics and in Spanish maqueta (if the lexical point is manufacture) or monstruo (if the image focuses on the oddity of the thing).
