Author Biography

  • Fátima Graciela Musri, National University of San Juan, Institut of Musical Studies

    She holds a PhD in Arts (National University of Córdoba), a Master's degree in Latin American Art (National University of Cuyo) and in History (National University of San Juan). She was a Professor of History of Music and Contemporary Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy, Humanities, and Arts at the National University of San Juan and is currently the Director of its Institute of Musical Studies. She researches topics related to local, regional, and Latin American music history, the migration of musicians, and musical genres. She is a lecturer and teacher in master's and doctoral programs at Argentine universities. She has published books and articles in specialized journals in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. She was Vice President of the Argentine Musicology Association, editor of its Bulletin, and is currently editor-in-chief of its Argentine Musicology Journal. She is a member of the International Musicological Society (IMS) and was a member of the Executive Council of the Regional Association for Latin America and the Caribbean (ARLAC/IMS) between 2021 and 2026. She is the founder of the ARLAC Working Groups on “Music and Newspapers” and “Decolonial Musicology.” She was awarded the Konex Prize for musicology for being one of the five leading figures in the discipline between 2010 and 2019 in Argentina.
